GENERAL INFORMATION
8-week “Player Best Ball” fall league starting the week of September 7th through the week of October 26th
To define what a “Player Best Ball” is, you have the opportunity to play 8 times on the front nine, and 8 times on the back nine. Your score for each hole will be recorded each round as well as your total score. Over the 8-week time period, we will only use your best score on a particular hole. (Example: if on Hole #1 you played 4 times, and you had a 5, the first time, a 5 the second time, 4 the third time, and a 3 the forth time, only the 3 would count toward your “Best Ball” score for the end of the 8-week league score.)
NOTE that this year’s fall league has more prizes as well as being much more flexible for your schedule.
You are able to play anytime during the week to count towards your ringer score for both the front 9 and back 9. You can do that 9 holes at a time or 18 holes all at once.
You do not need to play each week but you must play 4 rounds on each side to become eligible for the end of league prizes.
You must let me know BEFORE the round what your tee time is by email or text.
You MUST tell the PRO shop when checking in that this is a ringer league round. You will use an original golf course scorecard since no scorecards will be sent to you.
After your round, take a pic of the scorecard and text the pic of the scorecard to 610-451-1222. (The same method as you did all year for the summer league)
I will update the website once a week on a Sunday night.
COST
NO league entry fee
Green fees are the same as the summer league green fee.
PAYOUTS
For all net scoring, you will use your handicap that you finished in the league. (Note: The handicap will not move throughout this 8-week league.)

3rd= $40

(Any ties will be broken starting with the best score on Hole #1 and so on until the tie is broken)
Weekly prizes

ON COURSE RULES
The same integrity rules that are in place for the summer league will pertain to this fall league.
SCORECARD
You will use a normal Iron Valley scorecard that you will place into the same Hole-In-Fun box as we used for the summer league after your round. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you fill your score in for EVERY hole CLEARLY. Please DO NOT mark up the scorecard you hand in at the end of the night with any other markings besides the scores for EVERY hole and your TOTAL SCORE.
If you reach triple bogey on any hole before you hole out, pick up your ball and indicate that you picked up by placing one more stroke than triple bogey on the scorecard for that hole. If you hole out reaching triple bogey on the hole, indicate the triple bogey score as normal.
- Par 3: The pickup triple bogey score is 7. The hole out triple bogey score is 6
- Par 4: The pickup triple bogey score is 8. The hole out triple bogey score is 7
- Par 5: The pickup triple bogey score is 9. The hole out triple bogey score is 8
TEE BOX COLOR SELECTION
- If a player is 60 years old at the start of the season, they may play from the gold tees
- Females may play from the red tees
- All other players must use the white tees.
If you are eligible to choose what tee location you want to play from, a tee location MUST BE decided before week 1 and it MUST STAY the same for the entire season. No moving tee locations throughout the season.
RULES FOR OUT ON THE COURSE
LEAGUE INTEGRITY:
Players should always respect the game of golf, the Iron Valley Golf Club and their employees as well as the other league members by being honest, playing by the rules, and being courteous.
WINTER RULES APPLY:
To help keep play moving, winter rules will apply throughout the entire season. This means using a club and not your hand or foot, a player may move their ball 6 inches in any direction from where the ball lies.
NOTE: Winter rules do not apply in the sand trap.
FREE DROP AREAS:
A free drop (no penalty stroke) will be allowed under the following conditions:
- Temporary standing water
- Cart paths
- Man-made obstacles
- Bare ground / dirt
- Ground under repair
The free drop can be two club lengths from the obstacle. If the drop is from a sand trap, the ball MUST stay in the sand trap unless the trap is completely filled with water. A hard packed sand trap IS NOT considered an obstacle to warrant a free drop.
OUT OF BOUNDS:
If a player hits a ball out of bounds, the player must drop a ball within two club lengths from the spot that the ball went out of bounds. One penalty stroke will apply. Provisional shots are not permitted.
OVER A HAZARD:
If a player hits a ball into a hazard while attempting to go over the hazard, the player must drop a ball two club lengths behind the hazard at the line of entry the ball went into the hazard. One penalty stroke will apply. Provisional shots are not permitted.
Note: If a player hits into the hazard in front of the #4 tee box or in front of the #8 tee box, place the ball at the front of the tee box for the next shot.
WATER HAZARDS:
If a player’s ball lands in a water hazard, place the ball at the point of entry of the water. One penalty stroke will apply. Provisional shots are not permitted.
UNPLAYABLE LIES:
If a player’s ball comes to rest against a tree or some equally undesirable location such as the middle of a bush, the player must decide if the ball is playable or not.
If the player decides the ball is playable, it MUST BE played from that spot.
If the player decides it is an unplayable lie, the player must drop a ball two club lengths from where the ball lies no closer to the hole OR in a straight line backwards as far as they want from an extended line from the flag to the ball. One penalty stroke will apply. Provisional shots are not permitted.
A PRESUMED LOST BALL:
After searching for a ball presumed in play for a maximum of 2 minutes, a ball must be declared lost. The player must drop a ball from the spot the ball is presumed lost per the decision that the group agrees on. One penalty stroke will apply. Provisional shots are not permitted. After the dropped ball is hit, even if the presumed lost ball is found, it MAY NOT be used and the penalty stroke will still apply.
SAND TRAP RULES:
If a ball is laying in someone’s non raked foot print / divot etc, the ball may be moved up to 6 inches in any direction onto a normal sand lie. No sand may be moved to build up a better lie. Please help avoid these situations by raking the sand after playing from it.
NOTE: Winter rules do not apply in the sand trap.
RAIN / WEATHER ISSUES BEFORE AND DURING PLAY
This one is pretty simple. If the Iron Valley Golf Club deems the course open for play, the league WILL NOT cancel. This is not a league decision.
The Iron Valley Golf Club will not make this decision until 3:30 the day of the scheduled event. If the league is cancelled, an email will be sent out by 4:00. If you do not receive an email, the league is planning on playing and it is advised that you show up to the course.
In the event we start to play and it rains before we complete 9 holes, the Iron Valley Golf Club will decide if they need to call the league in.
If you come in on your own without a notification from the Iron Valley Golf Club, you will receive the maximum score of triple bogey plus one stroke on the holes that you did not play.
In the event that the Iron Valley Golf Club does call us in, you should report to the pavilion. This DOES NOT mean we are finished for the night. This means play is suspended and a decision will be made at the pavilion. If the league is cancelled before we get all nine holes in, (1 hole or 8 holes), the Iron Valley Golf Club has agreed to give us a $10 rain check for the following week. No points will be awarded for any of the holes played. The league must complete all 9 holes for the scores to count.
